Bloons Tower Defense 4: Expansion is the ultimate add-on for fans of BTD4, packing in more bloon-busting chaos with brand-new tracks, towers, and a fresh game mode. This standalone Flash expansion introduces the powerful Dartling Gun and Spike Factory, plus four unique maps like Sandy Spiral and Monkey Temple. Add in Deflation mode and Tower Specialties, and you’ve got a strategic challenge that’s as tough as it is addicting!
How to play Bloons Tower Defense 4: Expansion
This expanded version of BTD4 offers new layers of challenge and customization. Here’s how to dive into the new content and dominate the bloons!
Objective
Place towers along the path to prevent bloons from escaping. Earn cash by popping bloons (except in Deflation mode!) and use it to build, upgrade, or strategically adjust your defense. Survive all the waves in your selected mode to win.
Controls
- Desktop (Keyboard & Mouse): Use the mouse to select and place towers. Click to upgrade or sell, and use spacebar to speed up rounds or activate abilities.
- Desktop with Controller: Limited Flash emulator support may allow controller input via virtual cursor. Setup may vary.
- Mobile: Tap and drag towers to place. The Flash UI is touch-compatible but works best on larger screens or tablets.
New Towers
- Dartling Gun: Fires continuously in the direction of your mouse cursor. Powerful but requires constant targeting attention.
- Spike Factory: Automatically drops spike piles at the end of the track. Great for backline defense or as a bloon insurance policy.
New Tracks
- Sandy Spiral: A looping path with long sightlines—perfect for long-range towers.
- Subterranean Sewers: Tight turns and tricky visibility challenge your placements.
- Monkey Temple: Aesthetically stunning, but deceptively difficult.
- Triangle of Insanity: Pure chaos. Fast tracks and limited space make this one of the toughest BTD maps ever.
Deflation Mode
Start with $50,000, but you won’t earn any money during the game. Plan your loadout carefully—what you build at the start is all you’ve got!
Tower Specialties
Unlock these by completing new tracks on various difficulties. Specialties reduce the cost of one tower type while increasing others, allowing for hyper-focused strategies.
